Sorry, Katie. This is why I
didn't want to do this on the public forum. It sounds like we're just
pointing fingers. But there is a very organized Bluetooth industry
group that managers how profiles work, etc. Motorola is extremely
active in that group and aligns closely with the standards. Pioneer, in
the case of this series, did not. It's not a matter of backward
compatibility, but of a non-standard profile in the Pioneer system.
According to my source, the guys at Pioneer admitted as much. Again,
that's not something I would generally share publically since I don't
want my company to get into a spat with Pioneer.
None
of this changes your situation, I'm afraid. Again, I'm very sorry you
aren't able to use your Rival like you want. The Pioneer system is
expensive and if it was me, I'd probably elect to replace the phone
instead.
Regards,
- Matt
I'm sorry... but I'll just have to call BS on that one. Maybe every other phone in the world that actually works and connects with Pioneer just doesn't adhere to the oh so stringent industry standards of bluetooth. Maybe just maybe, you should go figure out what LG is doing RIGHT, because ALL their new phones work with the pioneer bluetooth. Never buying motorola again.
